Taranwould Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Newark, New York.

This is a short course - 4,350 yards, par 66 - course. The course first opened for play in 1991. The course was designed by A.L. DePorter and William Tatro.

One of the interesting things about the course is that several of the holes are "replicas" of holes at famous courses.

Front Nine
#1. 507 yards. Water comes in on the left beyond the trees and in front of the sand trap. Par 5
#2. Back tee 140 yards. (Replica of the 12th hole at Augusta) Front tee 125 yards. You must carry water and sand to a narrow green. Par 3
#3. 247 yards. Green is surrounded by waterfront, side, and back. Par 4
#4. 234 yards. (Replica of 13th hole at Pine Valley) An iron off the tee, aimed at the fence is best. Fence line on left is out of bounds.  Par 4
#5. 97 yards. English style par 3 with deep bunker cut into the green. Carts must stay on the cart path. Par 3
#6. 330 yards Green can be seen from the tee. Target should be to the left of tall tree appearing to be on the knoll. Par 4
#7 Back tee 106 yards. There is danger behind the green. Par 3
#8. 229 yards. Narrow fairway that slopes left. You could drive the hole for your eagle. Large trap on the left side and a fairway bunker on right. Cart path to #9 is on the left side of the green. Par 4
#9 102 yards. (Replica of 7th hole at Pebble Beach) Because it is downhill, it will play about 90 yards. Par 3

Back Nine

#10. 332 yards. The first plateau plays 100 yards, the second plateau plays 140 yards. A 90-degree dogleg right favors the slicer. Par 4
#11. 133 yards. The swale along #11 fairway leads into a pond not visible from the tee. The pond is on the left and behind the green. Par 3
#12 444 yards. The green is located in the farthest right-hand corner as you stand on the tee. Beware of the church pew traps on the left near the green. Par 5
#13. 383 yards. Straight away, out of bounds on left. Par 4
#14. 188 yards. (Replica of Donald Ross 17th hole at Pinehurst #2)Fairway slopes left to right, out of bounds along the left hedgerow. Par 3
#15. 113 yards. Ravine hole. If you can't hit the green play the shot to the right and let the hill bring it down Par 3
#16. 355 yards. Fairway only 35 yards wide. Accuracy is most important. #1 Handicap hole. Par 4
#17. 110 yards. The tee shot must be cut (sliced) to avoid Oak Trees. Par 3. DRIVE SLOWLY & CAREFULLY BETWEEN 17 GREEN & 18 TEE (ALL DOWNHILL)
#18. 300 yards. The tee shot must be controlled and accurate. All balls will move down left to right. A Deep gully immediately behind the green.
